Global food processing manufacturer opens new office in South Africa

Heat and Control Inc., a global manufacturer of custom industrial processing and packaging equipment for the food processing industry, has opened a new office in Cape Town, South Africa, as the company marks 30 years of business in Africa.

Heat and Control South Africa specializes in processing meat, seafood, poultry, meat-alternative products, ready meals, fruit and vegetables, cereals, and pet foods.

Its customers include local food manufacturers and larger multinational companies, according to a news release.

“In the last five years, we’ve expanded our personnel in this region by 50%, and we have a direct presence in Nairobi, Kenya as well,” Jeff Rossouw, Heat and Control general manager (Africa), said in the release.

In April, Heat and Control opened a 356,000-square-foot facility in Mexico to serve as its headquarters for Mexico and Latin American operations.

The company’s South African office is located in Stikland, Bellville.

Heat and Control, with industry partners including Ishida, Ceia, Key Technology and Urschel, has 12 manufacturing and warehouse facilities, 12 test centers and more than 30 offices worldwide.
