TOMRA to discuss sorting solutions at United Fresh

Attendees at United Fresh 2014 will be able to find out about TOMRA Sorting Food’s extensive portfolio of pioneering sorting and processing systems. TOMRA will have representatives on hand to meet at booth #449.

“We hope growers, packers and processors will visit our booth to discuss their sorting needs,” said Diarmuid Meagher, VP and sales manager, Northwestern and Western Regions, USA and Canada, TOMRA Sorting Food. “We offer a wide variety of machines to support a large range of applications which allows us to recommend effective and customised options.”

The Halo, the Genius and the Primus Gemini will be explained.

The Halo is robust and compact and offers high capacity, low maintenance, flexibility and increased profitability as well as gentle handling, according to TOMRA. The machine features both VIS and NIR capabilities and provides high performance sorting and grading, based on factors such as: defects, color, subtle blemishes, foreign material, size and shape.

The Genius (shown above) is equipped with high resolution cameras and lasers, according to the company. It has different inspection technologies in its various zones, with air guns rejecting unwanted items within milliseconds, in two or three separate streams, and sound product proceeding in the processing line.

The Primus Gemini sorts multiple fruit applications with defects such as discolorations, over ripe, hail and insect damage, plus foreign material, according to TOMRA. It delivers a high quality end product, meets modern consumer demands, and provides a very fast return on investment.
