The United Fresh Produce Foundation is once again administering the Frieda Rapoport Caplan Family Business Scholarship Program, which provides round-trip airfare to Washington, D.C., two nights’ hotel and full registration for its Washington Public Policy Conference.

The scholarship is designed to provide opportunities for representatives of family-owned produce businesses to attend what United Fresh describes as the industry’s premier political advocacy event, Oct. 1-3 this year. The program is open to individuals who are employed by a family-owned business that is a member of United Fresh Produce Association.

Past recipients have included representatives of farming operations, processors, packers, shippers and retailers. Four scholarships are available annually.
