JBT adds fully automated case de-stacker to equipment line

JBT is adding a fully automated case de-stacker to its Proseal line of case packing equipment.

The CDS Case De-Stacker reduces manual handling and is designed to de-stack both RPC and cardboard cases of all standard sizes on the same machine, according to a news release. The machine utilizes quick-change tooling, taking less than a minute to change product, and a recipe-driven control system, according to the release.

The length of the feed conveyor can be configured to any application, with up to an hour of operation before reloading, according to the company.

“Our commitment to innovation and efficiency shines through with the launch of our groundbreaking CDS Case De-Stacker,” said Nick Severn, JBT product line manager – end of line solutions. “By automating the de-stacking process, we’re not just complementing our award-winning case packing equipment, we’re revolutionizing packaging efficiency. We’re proud to offer a solution that not only enhances operational speed but also prioritizes the safety of our operators.”

Compatible with the CP2, CP3 and CP4, the CDS can deliver up to 35 cases per minute, as well as single or multiple stacked cases to manual packing lines and existing automated packaging equipment.

The CDS also features muting sensors to differentiate between a stack of cases and a person entering the production area, according to the release.
