Fortress Technology to debut new equipment
Food safety company Fortress Technology will debut a compact combination metal detector and heavy duty checkweigher with a reject conveyor at Pack Expo Las Vegas 2025, to be held Sept. 29-Oct. 1.
The Raptor BBK Combination system enables precise inspection of heavier products such as cases and 55-pound bags, according to a news release. Utilized by millers, ingredient suppliers and wholesalers, the system is equipped with a Stealth BBK metal detector to detect metal contaminants and perform weight checks on various large pack sizes, minimizing product giveaway and false rejects.

The combination system with a roller ball conveyor measures less than 2.5 meters long and can inspect and checkweigh up to 60 product units per minute, according to the company.
Fortress also offers an extra heavy-duty option for products up to 110 pounds.
The system can integrate into existing production lines and plant monitoring systems, according to Fortress. Its robust, hygienic construction ensures long-term reliability and performance in demanding processing and packaging environments, while the modular plastic chain conveyor belting and AC induction motor support efficient cleaning and maintenance.
The Stealth BBK metal detector detects 2-millimeter stainless steel in the aperture center in large packs of dry product, as well as ferrous and non-ferrous metal smaller than 1.5 millimeters in the aperture center.
Alternative reject options include belt stop alarms, overhead sweeps, kickers and custom reject stations.
