Troxler offers $12.4 Million in grants for North Carolina food manufacturers

North Carolina has unveiled $12.4 million in grants aimed at expanding food manufacturing and processing in the state. The funding will support eight projects focused on increasing the production of value-added goods in the state.

The grants are part of the North Carolina Agricultural Manufacturing and Processing Initiative (NCAMPI) and are expected to leverage an additional $63.4 million in private investment. The projects span various sectors, including produce, meat and dairy.

“These grants will enhance opportunities for farmers, reduce costs, and create jobs while strengthening our food supply,” said Troxler. “By investing in local food processing, we are addressing the needs of our farmers and consumers.”

Grant recipients

• Johnson Breeders Inc. (Duplin County) – $1 million for corn handling and drying.
• Maola Milk (Guilford County) – $980,600 for school milk production.
• FlavorFull Slices (Henderson County) – $220,000 for apple slicing equipment.
• Origin Foods LLC (Iredell County) – $2,297,000 for dairy processing equipment.
• Ripe Revival (Nash County) – $1,956,266 for vegetable processing.
• Cardinal Foods (Pender County) – $4,309,512 for sweet potato processing.
• Foster Caviness (Pitt County) – $158,152 for vegetable processing.
• Mitchell’s Meat Processing (Stokes County) – $1,511,801 for livestock processing.
