Vanmark delivers hydrocutting system to frozen fast-food company

Industrial produce and potato processing equipment manufacturer Vanmark has built and delivered a hydrocutting system for a leading Indian company in the frozen fast-food sector.

The company manufactures products such as french fries, potato wedges and hash browns. A Vanmark spokesperson said the name of the company could not be disclosed.

The compact 20-foot system, which includes a pump, cutter and dewatering conveyor, was built and shipped from Vanmark’s Bengaluru, India, facility.

The user-friendly system can process 1,000 to 5,000 pounds of product including potatoes, cucumbers and peppers per hour, according to Vanmark. The system can cut sticks, spears, wedges or core.

“Vanmark worked with this major supplier of frozen potato products to provide a compact hydrocutter system that will help them save time while meeting the growing demand for their products,” Veeresh Gowdru, Vanmark India general manager, said in a news release. “The Vanmark Compact Hydrocutter System provides high-quality cuts without feathering or breaking.”

A video of the system in action is available online.

Vanmark is part of the Grote family of brands, which includes PFI. The company operates locations in Idaho and Iowa and a manufacturing and distribution center in India.

In December, Vanmark announced plans to stock parts for its machines at Grote’s facility in the Netherlands to better serve its EU customers.
