ReposiTrak expands data-sharing capabilities of traceability network
Traceability and regulatory compliance network ReposiTrak has expanded the capabilities of its automated network to allow suppliers to share traceability data with any customer.
Suppliers can send data to any retail, wholesale or restaurant customer through ReposiTrak’s cloud-based network for as low as $49 a month, according to a news release.
ReposiTrak uses an inventory management and out-of-stock reduction Software as a Service (SaaS) platform to connect suppliers and trading partners ahead of the January 2026 deadline for compliance with the Food and Drug Administration’s Food Traceability Final Rule. Users can exchange FDA-required Key Data Elements for each Critical Tracking Event in the supply chain.
“The big grocery retailers and wholesalers have rolled out traceability programs. Each has a different set of requirements, which has created a host of technical and operational challenges for suppliers,” Randy Fields, ReposiTrak chair and CEO, said in a news release. “Our new solution – Traceability for Everyone – allows suppliers to share the data in one place for many customers. We help the supplier to resolve any data errors, and generate a file that’s as clean and accurate as possible for their customers.”
Traceability for Everyone allows suppliers to share the data for every customer, including those who do not require the use of ReposiTrak for traceability data sharing, according to the release.
Suppliers will be guided through a series of steps to provide information, and ReposiTrak checks the data for accuracy and helps with any needed error resolution.
“Over the last year, as we’ve worked to implement traceability for hundreds of suppliers, we’ve found that up to 35% of the files that initially come to us have some sort of error – typically missing or incorrect data,” Fields said. “We not only help suppliers to getting the data flowing; we also help to create a clean file that meets the customer’s requirements and is easy to maintain and share on a regular basis.”
