Pack Expo East to offer innovations featured in report

Changing consumer demands, such as the push for clean labeling, the rise in the meal kit market, as well as an increase in custom products, is affecting consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies’ production operations, according to the newly released Vision 2025 report from PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies.

As consumer demands increase, CPG manufacturers feel the pressure to meet requirements and look to OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) to help provide solutions. CPG companies are quick to point out that packaging changes and ranges present constant challenges to machine design and continue to cite the need for flexible, multi-functional equipment enabling efficient changeovers.

PACK EXPO East (April 16-18, 2018; Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia), produced by PMMI, arrives just in time to feature the packaging innovations CPG companies crave.

“As the effects of consumer demands highlighted in Vision 2025 work their way further upstream, CPGs are looking to collaborate with equipment suppliers to provide the innovation they need to tackle these challenges,” said Paula Feldman, director of business intelligence, PMMI. “The intimacy and smaller scale of PACK EXPO East allows attendees and exhibitors to easily pinpoint solutions and spend quality time understanding each other’s operations and the challenges both sides of the table face.”

PACK EXPO East brings together suppliers of packaging innovations for food, beverage, pharmaceutical/medical device, cosmetic/personal care, chemical/household and other packaged goods that serve companies of all sizes and is a valuable opportunity to see the latest packaging technologies. The show provides an opportunity, in between the flagship PACK EXPO shows, to see new technology and trends.
