Equipment manufacturer Sormac to debut new tech at Fruit Logistica
Produce processing equipment manufacturer Sormac will debut new technology at global trade show Fruit Logistica, set for Feb. 5-7 in Berlin.
Sormac’s fully automatic PepperCorer Robotic continuously de-cores and portions bell peppers with a capacity of up to 2,500 pieces per hour. The peppers can be cut into slices, rings, wedges and cubes, according to a news release.
The DC-145 is a three-dimensional vegetable dice cutter which supports dice, stick and slice cuts in various sizes. The 400-millimeter drum diameter makes it the largest drum in its class, according to the release, while a touchscreen Human Machine Interface enables precise slice thickness calibration. The dice cutter has a capacity of up to 6,000 kilograms per hour.

Two imaging technology solutions will also be unveiled. The OptiView hygienic camera system aids production quality and process control, while the OptiPro visual automation system recognizes whether products meet specified recipes, triggering automatic production line responses.
Sormac will also feature its redesigned vertical vegetable centrifuge FC-540 and upgraded FS-3600 MultiSystem slice and wedge cutter.
“We are looking forward to share knowledge and network with our customers from the fruit and vegetable sector,” Roy Lemmen, Sormac sales director, said in the release.
