Mastronardi Produce has earned recognition as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for the 17th consecutive year.
The company received Platinum Club honors, recognizing companies that have maintained best managed status for seven or more consecutive years, according to a news release. The program, begun in 1993, is sponsored by Deloitte Private, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, The Globe and Mail, and TMX Group.
“Our dedicated team really drives our success as a company,” Paul Mastronardi, president and CEO of Mastronardi Produce, said in the release. “Being honored as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for the 17th year is a testament to the people who show up every day and make this company what it is, and we are very grateful to them.”
This summer, the company will serve as the presenting sponsor of the United Way Windsor-Essex’s Summer Eats for Kids program, which provides children and families in West Windsor, Downtown Windsor and Leamington with weekly bags of fresh fruits, vegetables and nutritious snacks throughout July and August. The program’s goal is to fill the gap created when school nutrition programs close for the summer.
“As the presenting sponsor of Summer Eats for Kids this summer, we’re helping to ensure our local communities have the resources to eat healthy, which is both a reflection of our company and our dedication to helping others,” Mastronardi said.
Founded in 1954, Mastronardi Produce grows, distributes and markets fresh fruits and vegetables under its flagship SUNSET brand as well as the Backyard Farms and Queen of Greens brands. Its Tomato Branch triangular carrier recently won the Canadian Produce Marketing Association’s 2026 Packaging Innovation Award.
