Perishable produce expert to speak at New York event next month
The CEO of Semeran Trading Group will share his perishable produce industry expertise at the New York Produce Show and Conference, set for Dec. 10-12 in New York City.
Russ Semeran will speak at the Dec. 11 keynote breakfast. Semeran Trading Group (STG), a global commodity trading company with products including recyclable recovered materials, biofuels, paper pulp and eco-friendly agricultural packaging, is a platinum sponsor of the event.
“By tapping into our innovation and adaptability, STG has optimized the logistics of providing agricultural materials to produce farmers, exporters and ripening facilities around the world,” Semeran said a news release. “Ever mindful of our strong commitment to environmental stewardship, we continue to search for practical, cost-effective solutions for our global clientele.
“We have now expanded into distributing a diverse selection of agricultural products from Latin America, specializing in avocados and papayas.”
STG is planning to further expand is global trading of select perishable produce in 2025, according to the release.
“I understand how unforgiving, volatile and competitive the perishable produce market is,” Semeran said. “This is due to many serious challenges, including the supply-and-demand continuum, the shortage of containers at ports and on vessels, currency exchange fluctuations, geo-political risks and numerous perishability factors.”
Acclaimed storyteller Matthew Luhn is the New York event’s keynote speaker.
