New Adenosine Triphosphate surface-cleanliness testing system introduced

Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) testing is a rapid testing method used by industries such as agricultural, food processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, sanitation, and a variety of other industries to quickly assess cleanliness of surfaces by detecting presence biological materials.

ATP is an energy molecule found in all plant, animal, and microbial cells. It fuels metabolic processes such as cellular reproduction, muscle contraction, plant photosynthesis, respiration in fungi, and fermentation in yeast. All organic matter (living or once-living) contains ATP, including food, bacteria, mold, and other microorganisms. The detection of ATP on a surface or in water therefore indicates the presence of biological matter that may not otherwise be visible.

Hygiena ATP testing devices, supplied by QA Supplies, contain a natural enzyme found in fireflies called luciferase which produces a simple bioluminescence (light producing) reaction when it encounters ATP. Using bioluminescence technology, the luminometers can measure extremely low levels of ATP collected with testing devices. Measuring the amount of bioluminescence from an ATP reaction provides an excellent indication of surface cleanliness or water quality because the quantity of light generated by the reaction is directly proportional to the amount of ATP present in the sample.

The bioluminescence reaction is immediate so results can be processed at the testing site in seconds, and results are expressed numerically on the luminometer screen in Relative Light Units (RLU). Further information about these ATP hygiene monitoring systems has been developed by one of the world’s premier food and beverage reference laboratories here

The new EnSure Touch Luminometer is different from other ATP testing devices on the market with AOAC International approval as it has undergone rigorous, systematic and scientific scrutiny. This device is highly credible, defensible, and can be used with confidence by industry, regulatory agencies, research organizations, testing laboratories and academic institutions.

Physically, the EnSure Touch Luminometer features a smartphone like design, responsive 5-inch shatter-proof touch screen, remote on-screen support, customizable user interface, and 2GB of internal and unlimited cloud storage. Easy to navigate, users can Wi-Fi sync to cloud based software for data transferring and management. Calibration check reminders and on-site calibration checks can be scheduled for additional quality control supervision.

The superior design of the EnSure Touch Luminometer combined with phenomenal accuracy, sensitivity, repeatability, and linearity make this ATP hygiene monitoring system the best device for professionals looking for outstanding quality control performance.
