Logistics automation company names industry veteran new CEO

Global logistics automation company Cimcorp has named a company and industry veteran as its new CEO.

Retiring CEO Tero Peltomaki will continue as a member of the company’s board.

Hakala has more than 25 years of experience in industry and technology, according to a news release. He will help guide the company’s growth in grocery retail and tire plant logistics as well as Cimcorp’s Service business, a cross-cutting organization.

“Cimcorp has always grown by starting small in the new business segments. We’ve created one solution first, and as we’ve gained more knowledge of our clients’ challenges, we have been able to expand,” Hakala said in the release.

Headquartered in Finland with a North American office in Grimsby, Ontario, Cimcorp provides automated storage and order picking systems designed to optimize fresh and perishable food distribution.

“In every phase, we aim to bring our experience to the table and even challenge the client’s initial perspective,” Hakala said. “We are interested in what our client does and how it could be done better and more efficiently.”

Cimcorp also appointed Tommi Kumlander as deputy CEO and Jarno Honkanen as vice president of solutions and technology.
