Infratab Freshtime recognized for RFID tags, blockchain technology

Infratab Freshtime was recently honored by the automatic identification industry for its RFID tags and blockchain technology.

The Oxnard, California-based company manufactures and sells technology that answers the question “How fresh is it?” according to the company website. Although the project it was honored for was for establishing a cold chain technology for seafood, it also works with perishable fruits and vegetables.

The award came in the case study competition conducted by AIM Inc.

“Each year, AIM recognizes those who have developed and delivered compelling solutions that contribute to the growth and advancement of innovations and cutting-edge technologies in the automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) industry,” according to a statement from AIM.

Infratab won in the blockchain category.

“Case studies that show blockchain in relationship with other AIDC technologies to provide assurances that data is legitimate and the processes that introduce new data are well-defined will be featured,” according to AIM. “Winners in each competition category will be honored at industry awards events in the year following selection.”
