Fresh-cut vegetable, salad producer closing NJ warehouse

Ready Pac Produce, which makes salad and other plant-based meals, is closing its distribution center in Burlington County, New Jersey, in a move designed to improve efficiency and customer service.

The move was disclosed in a notification to the New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development and reported by the Cherry Hill Courier-Post.

The company said the 75 employees at the facility in Florence will be given the option to relocate to Gloucester County to another site owned by parent company Bonduelle Americas.

Burlington and Gloucester counties are about 50 miles apart.

Bonduelle acquired Ready Pac Produce in 2017, expanding its portfolio to include fresh-cut salads, vegetables, and prepared meals marketed primarily under the Bistro brand.

“Relocating our warehouse operations to directly across the street from our manufacturing site in Swedesboro will enable us to decrease shuttle times by 45-plus minutes, improve customer service delivery and reduce our carbon footprint and overall impact on the planet,” the company said in a statement.

The Florence facility, built in 1980, includes a refrigerated space of 152,000 square feet.
