Dave Corsi chosen as incoming CPS chair

The Center for Produce Safety (CPS) Board of Directors elected officers on June 21, directly following the CPS Research Symposium held in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dave Corsi of Wegmans Food Markets was voted in as the new board chair.

Corsi has worked at Wegmans Food Markets for over 32 years, becoming the vice president for produce and floral operations in 1999. As VP of produce and floral, he is responsible for procurement, merchandising, design, fixturing, pricing and the Wegmans organic farm operation. His predecessor, Tim York of Markon Cooperative was the board chair for the past two years.

Officers elected to the board of directors in addition to Corsi:

• Mike Stuart, Florida Fruit and Vegetable Association – secretary
• Bob Whitaker, Produce Marketing Association – treasurer
