IFPA technology accelerator seeks climate-smart innovation
The International Fresh Produce Association’s technology accelerator, Fresh Field Catalyst, seeks applicants for its six-month program.
IFPA is looking for innovative, scalable technologies to commercialize climate-smart production practices for specialty crops. Innovations in fields such as plant nutrient, crop protection and crop genetics could help meet increased consumer demand for sustainably produced fresh food while mitigating traditional barriers to the adoption of new technology, according to a news release.
Special attention will be paid to technologies utilizing artificial intelligence, according to the release.
The program includes field visits, mentoring from IFPA members and biweekly meetings with experts.
The deadline to apply is April 1.
Members of the program’s 2023 cohort include Pittsburgh-based Bloomfield Robotics and Fyteko, a Belgian biotechnology company.
