Virtual produce safety training workshops offered through fall
Virtual training workshops from the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) Produce Safety Program (PSP) are available on the agency’s Produce Safety Program Portal through fall.
The online workshops provide an overview of the PSP and step-by-step training on how to navigate the PSP Portal. Each session includes a live tutorial during the first hour, followed by a Q&A segment and optional one-on-one technical support.
The PSP Portal is a cloud-based platform that gives California produce growers and handlers access to their farm data and produce safety inspection reports. The tool supports compliance with the federal Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule and allows users to easily connect with CDFA staff. The portal also enables CDFA to prioritize inspections based on food safety risk factors, helping protect the fresh produce supply in California and beyond.
The ongoing workshop series builds on previous in-person and virtual trainings held throughout 2024 and earlier this year. The next scheduled virtual workshop will be held Oct. 28.
The workshops are free and open to California produce growers and handlers. Registration is required:
