USDA funding aims to bolster US expand markets
USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service has awarded funding designed to expand U.S. agricultural export markets to 55 organizations and anticipates $285 million in additional funding in fiscal year 2027.
USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) has awarded nearly $150 million in funding designed to expand U.S. agricultural export markets to 55 organizations and anticipates an infusion of $285 million in additional funding in fiscal year 2027.
The supplemental funding will support flagship FAS programs such as the Market Access Program and Foreign Market Development Program, according to a news release.

On April 16, FAS announced 2026 America First Trade Promotion Program funding awarded to 55 nonprofit organizations and cooperatives. The recipients included the National Potato Board (Potatoes USA), which received $2.875 million, the Organic Trade Association ($1.5 million) and the Almond Board of California ($4 million).
“USDA’s market development programs have a proven record of delivering for our farmers, ranchers and producers,” Luke J. Lindberg, Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs, said in the release. “Partnering with industry opens new doors for trade, strengthening our position in the global marketplace and advancing the Trump administration’s priority of keeping American agriculture competitive, resilient and ready to meet growing global demand.”
