UK-based Produce Investments acquires sprout control company
U.K.-based agritech investment company Produce Investments has acquired fixed crop management and sprout control company Biofresh Safestore.
Biofresh Safestore provides fixed installation systems for storage facilities across the U.K., Europe and Japan, according to a news release. The acquisition complements PI’s natural sprout suppression portfolio, including its Restrain brand.
“This acquisition represents an important step in PI group growth journey,” PI CEO Rachel Cook-Coulson said in the release.
PI focuses on potato growing, crop storage and agritech innovation. Its portfolio also includes fresh potato supplier Greenvale and agronomy business Produce Solutions, which supports the potato and fresh produce sectors with technical services and research programs.
