Tasteful Selections unveils 3-pound mesh pillow pack for potatoes

RPE specialty potato brand Tasteful Selections has unveiled a new 3-pound mesh pillow pack for its Honey Gold, Ruby Sensation and Sunburst Blend varieties.

The new packaging is designed to elevate the products’ retail presentation and give consumers a clear view of the produce, according to a news release.

Currently, 3-pound packages hold the No. 2 spot in the baby potato category with a 14% share, according to the release. The 3-pound packages have experienced a 4% growth in pounds year-to-date and a 9% three-year compound annual growth rate, the company said.

“We believe that packaging plays a pivotal role in the consumer’s perception of product quality and desirability,” Rachel Atkinson-Leach, RPE vice president of Brand and Category Excellence, said in the release. “With the introduction of the 3-pound mesh pillow pack, we are not only providing quality packaging for potatoes but a statement of style and convenience. It’s a game changer for retailers and a chance for consumers to really connect with the product.”

The packs will be available beginning March 1.
