Packaging and processing company Steuben Foods seeking major expansion

Steuben-Foods-expansionSteuben Foods, a food packaging and processing firm in greater Buffalo, is looking to build a new 82,500-square-foot warehouse and racking system.

According to the Buffalo News, Steuben is seeking $460,000 in tax breaks to help with the cost of the projected $16.85 million facility. Steuben already has a 474,000-square-foot complex in Elma, New York.

If finished, the new warehouse and racking facility would allow Steuben to mostly eliminate use of third-party contractors it currently utilizes to stage, wrap and secure products on pallets, the Buffalo News reported.

Steuben’s history is steeped in dairy products, but the company also has the capability to create and process sauces, soups, stocks and broths.
