SOMIC Packaging names new technical operations manager

SOMIC Packaging has tapped a management professional with more than three decades of experience as its new technical operations manager.

Dave Billingsley will oversee the company’s production and project management, including factory acceptance testing of all equipment being assembled for the North American market, according to a news release.

Billingsley is a native of Minnesota. Three months ago, SOMIC tripled its space and production capabilities by moving into a new, 48,000-square-foot production facility in Eagan, Minnesota.

“In roles ranging from plant manager and director of operations to CEO and president, I have led initiatives that improved quality, reduced costs and accelerated growth,” Billingsley said in the release. “My hands-on leadership style, combined with a knack for building high-performing teams and inspiring them to exceed corporate targets, aligns perfectly with my new position.”

SOMIC has offered design support for cartons, retail-ready and wraparound cases in industries including food and pharmaceutical since 1974.
