Retail digitization company partners with NY grocery chain
Retail shelf digitization company Simbe has partnered with New York grocery chain DeCicco & Sons to bring Simbe’s technology platform to DeCicco’s flagship Sleepy Hollow location, as well as additional stores in Eastchester and Larchmont.
Store Intelligence delivers real-time, storewide visibility to support pricing accuracy, product availability and inventory placement, according to a news release. The platform provides up to 98% on-shelf product availability and 90% improved pricing accuracy, helping digital systems fulfill product needs and meet customer expectations, according to the company.
“At DeCicco & Sons, we’ve always prided ourselves on providing the finest selection of products with exceptional customer service,” John DeCicco Jr., company president, said in the release. “Partnering with Simbe allows us to enhance that experience even further. By automating inventory management, our team members can spend more time assisting customers and less time on repetitive tasks. This technology perfectly complements our vision for the future of grocery retail, expediting order fulfillment to our distribution and vendor partners.”
The partnership continues San Francisco-based Simbe’s East Coast expansion. The company’s digital platform includes Tally, an autonomous scanning robot that identifies product location, stock level, and pricing and promotion information.
“DeCicco & Sons is setting a new bar for retail innovation,” Brad Bogolea, Simbe CEO and co-founder, said. “We’re proud to be their technology partner as they scale a smarter, faster, more connected shopping experience.”
DeCicco & Sons, founded in 1973 when John DeCicco Sr. acquired a small grocery store in the Bronx, is now an N.Y. metropolitan-area grocery chain.
