Ready Pac CEO retires, new leader named

Michael Solomon, president and CEO of Ready Pac Foods, has announced his retirement from the company. Philip Theodore, who recently joined the company as chief operating officer, will now assume the duties of president and CEO.

Solomon joined Ready Pac in 2006 and has been president and CEO since 2008. During his tenure, the company has turned in several years of record performance, according to a Ready Pac press release.

“I have decided that now since I have a strong senior executive on board to focus on the operations and financial aspects of the business, and one who complements an already strong management team, the time is right for me to retire from Ready Pac,” said Solomon. “I look forward to spending more time with my wife and 2 1/2 year old son.”

Theodore started his career in the retail supermarket business in the early 1980s with Wegman’s supermarkets. Since then he has held key executive and board positions with CPG companies with deep knowledge in both private label and national brand distribution at retail.

Theodore has an MBA from The Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University and a bachelor of science in accounting from St. John Fisher College.

“Michael has built a great team at Ready Pac and I am very excited to help lead the team. This company has great employees, innovative products, collaborative distribution partners, and is well positioned for exciting growth”, Theodore said.
