Produce industry veteran returns to Fresh Del Monte
A produce industry veteran has returned to Fresh Del Monte Produce as a senior vice president.
Danny Dumas, who spent more than 20 years with Del Monte before resigning in 2020, is the company’s new senior vice president of sales, marketing and product management for North America. His 35-plus years of experience include a role as senior vice president at Calavo Growers.
Dumas will also oversee Fresh Del Monte’s technical services and quality assurance for port operations.
“We are pleased to welcome Danny back to Fresh Del Monte,” Mohammad Abu-Ghazaleh, Fresh Del Monte Produce chair and CEO, said in a news release. “His return comes at a pivotal time as we continue to evolve our North American operations to meet growing market demands.
“His proven leadership and deep expertise in produce sales, global logistics and product management will be invaluable as we focus on expanding value-added product offerings, driving continuous improvement and maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer service excellence.”
Dumas’ previous company roles included vice president of operations for Europe and Africa and vice president, North America sales and product management for Fresh Del Monte’s banana and pineapple programs.
As chair of United Fresh, Dumas helped drive a merger with Produce Marketing Association that formed the International Fresh Produce Association.
