Produce industry veteran joins FreshPro Foods
Produce industry veteran Victor Savanello has joined FreshPro Foods as vice president of merchandising, sales and business development.
Savanello has more than 35 years of industry experience and was a 2022 receipient of the International Fresh Produce Association’s Retail Innovation Award.
He has held national produce retail and distribution positions at Wakefern Foods, Allegiance Retail Services, The Fresh Market and most recently SpartanNash, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
“I’m ecstatic to join the team at FreshPro and return to my New York, New Jersey roots,” Savanello said in a news release.
“I can’t wait to be able to utilize my experience and vision to help our customers gain a competitive edge in their market areas.”
Since 1985, New Jersey-based FreshPro has been a fresh distributor of a variety of conventional and organic produce, fresh cuts, deli items, cheese, chilled foods and other products.
