PMA Impact Awards Recognize Innovative Companies

The Produce Marketing Association named the winners of its Impact Award, which recognizes innovative new products in the produce industry. Fresh-cuts were well represented among the winners this year.

To-Jo Fresh Mushrooms Inc. received an Impact Award for functionality and technology for the packaging of the On-the-Spot Gourmet line of mushroom products. The gourmet selections are available in Garlic Mushroom Saute, Caramelized Skillet, Marinated Button Mushrooms and Kettle Cooked Portabella. The ready-to-eat line is packed in a washable, biodegradable container.

Tanimura & Antle’s Living Lettuce won an Impact Award for marketing message and content. The hydroponically grown Boston lettuce is grown using sustainable practices and is packed in a display-ready recyclable container.

Foodles, marketed by Imagination Farms and the Disney Garden brand, won an Impact Award for package design. The line is packaged in a container in the shape of the recognizable Mickey Mouse head. There are currently seven combinations of Foodles available, featuring separate sections for fruit, vegetables and a dipping sauce or other side.
