Ready Pac Foods has promoted Tristan Simpson to the position of chief communications officer. She will be responsible for leading all strategic initiatives with corporate communications, creative marketing and research and development.

Leaders at food safety firm Birko have been appointed to industry safety committees. Elis Owens, senior chemist/microbiologist, will serve on the Produce Marketing Association (PMA) Science and Technology Committee and the Center for Produce Safety Technical Committee. Ian Bessell, director of business development and food safety for produce, will also serve on the PMA committee.

BioSafe Systems has hired Ron Fisher to be its Northeast territory manager for the agrichemical division. He will support the company’s crop protection, water treatment and food safety business segments. 

Mark McGlogan is the new territory manager for WeighPack Systems. Based in Ontario, Canada, his responsibilities include account management and assisting customers in Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin and western Ontario with packaging solutions.

Kevin Keefe has been named marketing manager of Schneider Packaging Equipment. Keefe has more than 12 years of marketing and product management experience, most recently as general manager of a broadcasting company.
