Nominations open for inaugural awards program celebrating Texas women in produce
Nominations are open for In Bloom, the Texas International Produce Association (TIPA)’s Women in Produce’s inaugural awards program celebrating women in the produce industry.
Nominations are open until Jan. 31 for two awards: the Lifetime Achievement award, recognizing an individual with more than 20 years of industry service who has left a lasting legacy; and the Rising Star award, highlighting a professional who has demonstrated exceptional promise in at least two years in the industry.
The awards will be presented during a ceremony Feb. 27 in McAllen, Texas.

Nominees must be TIPA members, according to a news release.
Nomination forms are available online.
“This inaugural awards program is a wonderful opportunity to bring TIPA members together to celebrate the incredible women in our industry,” In Bloom chair Michelle Cortez said in the release. “We’re excited to honor their achievements and contributions leading up to our annual Viva Fresh event.”
At the Viva Fresh Produce Expo, to be held April 10-12 in Houston, In Bloom will host a networking event designed to foster collaboration and leadership development among women in produce.
