Newtec’s Laser Flowpack 700 combines sealing, cutting

A new, fully automatic laser welding machine from Newtec offers solutions for a range of products, including fruits and vegetables, packed in ultra-thin film.

The Laser Flowpack 700 complies with the EU-2025 plastic targets, reduces plastic consumption and encourages minimal use of film, according to a news release. Other benefits include high-capacity production of up to 80 punnets per minute and adjustability to different punnet needs.

The Laser Flowpack 700 combines laser sealing and cutting in one machine, has no sealing jaws to maintain and eliminates the need to resharpen tools.

Punnet is a European term used to describe a small box or square basket used to gather, transport and sell fruits and vegetables. It has a capacity of about 400 cubic centimeters, or about 250 grams for berries.
