New Cremer production facility relies on Sesotec metal detection

Germany-based Cremer Nutrition’s new joint venture with Temasek’s Asia Sustainable Foods platform has been completed in Singapore. The 118,000-square-foot manufacturing facility will expand plant-based food production in Asia.

The new facility’s startup capacity is more than 1,000 tons per year, according to a news release.

The project was completed in the first quarter of 2022, according to the release.

The new facility is relying on metal detection technology from Sesotec to achieve its food safety requirements, according to the release.

Built into the production line, Sesotec’s GLS 450/250 GO DUO metal detector offers both high performance and flexibility for Cremer’s two packaging types:

  • 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds) package: 2 mm ferrous, 2.5 mm non-ferrous, 3 mm stainless steel
  • 10kg box: (22 pounds): 3 mm ferrous, 3.5 mm non-ferrous, 3.5 mm stainless steel

“Our goal was a solution to optimize production, increase efficiency and ensure food safety — all factors that are of utmost importance in food production,” Han Tan Jin Yi, Cremer production manager, said in the release. “Competence and reliability combined with competitive prices: we found all this at Sesotec, and even with local support. More projects will follow.”
