Mexican grower-exporter launches new packaged vegetable brand in North America
Mexican grower-exporter SL Produce has launched a new packaged vegetable brand for the North American market. The Tenderland brand will be available for weekly deliveries to retail and foodservice customers across the U.S. and Canada.
The branded bags and packs feature both conventional and organic green beans, bell peppers, sliced cucumbers, sweet corn and squash. The brand focuses on SL Produce’s responsible production methods and the company’s dignified working conditions, including housing and education, according to a news release.
Tenderland also offers complete traceability from planting to delivery, according to the release.
“The meaning of the Tenderland brand is grounded in the tenderness of the soil that delivers its fruits with a wonderful delicacy and the extraordinary quality that Mexican growers have and maintain worldwide,” Ivonne Lugo, SL Produce marketing and PR manager at SL Produce, said in the release. “The gentleness with which we farm the land from seed to harvest is reflected in the results of our work – agricultural products full of life and taste.”
The brand launch is the first of its kind for the fourth-generation, family-owned company, which cultivates produce across the regions of Sinaloa, Jalisco, Guanajuato and Coahuila, according to the release.
The Sinaloa-based grower has recently expanded to include major greenhouse production sites across Mexico as well the launch of a dedicated U.S. subsidiary based in Nogales, Arizona, and McAllen, Texas.
