Krones collects 2 German Design Awards for product design
Packaging technology company Krones has won two 2023 German Design Awards in the Excellent Product Design Industry category.
The company’s Contiform stretch blow-molding machine and the Mobile Production Robotics system each won awards in the prestigious worldwide competition.
The Krones Contiform family of stretch blow-molders, now it its fourth generation, is used to produce PET bottles. Its latest evolution focuses on sustainability and digitalization, with features such as Contiloop AI, Air Wizard Triple and Skip-and-Run combining to reduce the new generation’s CO2 emissions by 16%.
The mobile robotics system supports operators in supplying materials to the filling and packaging lines. In one such application, it is used for the automatic refilling of film reels in packers. By automating activities previously performed by hand, line owners can reduce operating costs and increase production flexibility.
Krones, based in Germany, provides breweries, beverage bottlers and food producers worldwide with both individual machines and complete production lines covering production processes from product and container production and filling and packaging up to material flow and container recycling.
