Krisp-Pak Recalls All Branded Products
Norfolk, Va.-based Krisp-Pak Company announced a voluntary recall of all its branded fresh-cut products Nov. 27, because they might be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
The recall affects all produce packaged under the Krisp-Pak name with an expiration date on or before Nov. 30. The packages include cantaloupe, honeydew, red grapes, watermelon, pineapple and strawberries packaged individually or combined. They are sold in 4-ounce and 8-ounce cups, 1-pound cups, 3-pound tubs and 10-inch and 13-inch trays. The produce was distributed to retail stores in the Hampton Roads and Richmond, Va., areas.
On Nov. 1, Krisp-Pak recalled all branded products containing honeydew, cantaloupe and red grapes as the result of a positive finding by FDA of listeria in a package. The company has halted production and distribution to find the cause of the contamination.
No illnesses have been reported that are associated with Krisp-Pak produce.
