IAFP names industry veteran new president
Mark Carter, senior global software product manager for food safety solutions company Hygiena, is the new president of the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP).
As CEO of MC Squared Enterprises, Carter has honed an understanding of life science business, food safety and technology development. Before joining Hygiena, he held positions including chief operating officer of Matrix Sciences and CEO of QCL.

Carter has also worked at Kraft Foods and McKee Foods Corp., where he focused on microbiology and food safety.
Carter’s involvement with IAFP began in 1993. He has held leadership roles, served an multiple committees and co-founded the Sample Prep working group.
“Mark Carter’s presidency at IAFP is a significant achievement that underscores Hygiena’s commitment to excellence and innovation in food safety,” Steven Nason, Hygiena CEO, said in a news release. “His expertise and vision have always been inspiring, and I have no doubt that under his leadership, the association will continue to thrive and achieve new heights.
