Great American Packaging launches new flexible packaging line

Great American Packaging has launched a new flexible packaging line, OneEarth Packaging, designed to meet consumer demand for a more sustainable, high-performance product.

The line is compostable and recyclable, with no added PFAS (polyfluoroalkyl substances, known as ‘forever chemicals’ as the manmade additives found in many consumer and industrial products don’t break down).

GAP will unveil the OneEarth line, developed in partnership with top researchers and material experts, at the International Dairy Deli Bakery Association show, which begins Sunday in Anaheim, California.

“As technologies evolve, we are committed to being at the forefront, leveraging new materials and applications expertise to drive sustainable packaging innovations,” Bruce Carter, president of Great American Packaging, said in a news release. “As the sustainability opportunity evolves, we are doing our part to create packaging solutions that keep our customers compliant with the latest regulations and appeal to consumer demand for a cleaner, greener future.”

OneEarth Packaging is FDA- and ASTM D6400-certified to ensure compliance with California extended producer responsibility regulations. Its monolayer films reduce material waste compared to multilayer films.

Los Angeles-based GAP extrudes, prints and converts custom, flexible packaging solutions for the food, ice, medical, consumer, and other industries.
