Global Cold Chain Expo moving to Dallas for 2020 event

The Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) will host the 2020 Global Cold Chain Expo (GCCE) at the Hilton Anatole, in Dallas, Sept. 28-30, 2020. For the past three years, the annual summit has been co-located at McCormick Place in Chicago with the United Fresh show.

GCCA said the move from Chicago was made with careful consideration, support and guidance from the GCCE Task Force, made up of warehouse professionals and a variety of exhibitors, as well as approval from the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW) and World Food Logistics Organization (WFLO) boards.

GCCA said the new location provides a lower price point for hotel rooms, is closer to airports and is an easier-to-navigate venue.

“Moving from a convention center to a hotel environment that encompasses an expo hall, meeting space and sleeping rooms all under one roof facilitates greater networking and community,” said Andy Janson, president, MTC Logistics and IARW chairman. “Finding a lower price point for hotel rooms and overall cost of participation for attendees and exhibitors was a key driver in the move to Dallas.”

GCCA will continue partnering with United Fresh Produce Association to maximize the impact of GCCE; however, the event now will be standalone and not in conjunction with United’s FreshTech and FreshMarket shows.

“We listened to our members and shifted GCCE from late June – the busy season for industry professionals – to late September,” said GCCA President and CEO Corey Rosenbusch. “These changes better enable the vision for GCCE: To be the place that the food industry gathers.”
