Fruit and vegetable grower acquires 159-acre greenhouse facility

Mucci Farms has acquired Hacienda North Farms, a 159-acre greenhouse facility in Ontario.

Mucci Farms is a second-generation fruit and vegetable grower headquartered in Kingsville, Ontario, Canada, with more than 60 years of growing experience. Hacienda North Farms, located in Coatsworth, Ontario, has been a grower partner of Mucci Farms for nearly a decade, specializing in bell peppers.

“Working directly with Hacienda Farms for several years has given us insight into the facilities and the quality product that’s grown there,” Bert Mucci, CEO of Mucci Farms, said in a news release. “Bringing them into our fold presents an exciting opportunity to further enhance our ability to meet the needs of our retail partners.”

The acquisition includes an additional 120 acres for future expansion, according to the release.

Mucci Farms is part of the newly launched Cox Farms global fresh produce business.
