Fresh Del Monte Produce hires VP for avocados program

An industry sales veteran is joining Fresh Del Monte Produce to help strengthen its avocado program.

Thomas Padilla, the company’s new vice president of avocados, international, has spent more than 14 years in the produce industry, specializing in international and export sales.

“Tommy’s deep expertise in international markets and the avocado category uniquely positions him to lead this important segment for Fresh Del Monte,” Danny Dumas, senior vice president of sales, marketing, and product management for North America, said in a news release. “His leadership will be instrumental in driving growth and expanding our footprint to better serve customers across key global markets.”

Fresh Del Monte’s avocado program is a driver of growth, particularly in North America, supported by its sourcing network and ripening capabilities, according to the release.

Padilla will oversee the company’s international avocado operations and strategy, focusing on identifying growth opportunities and strengthening partnerships.
