FPS Food Process Solutions investing in US facilities
Canadian-based FPS Food Process Solutions has invested in a 140,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Saginaw, Michigan, to bolster its U.S. production and is renovating another U.S. site.
Renovations at subsidiary GEM Equipment of Oregon, including state-of-the-art equipment, will increase manufacturing and office capacity at its Mount Angel facility to 95,000 square feet, according to a news release.
“We opened our U.S. headquarters facility three years ago to secure our position as a global leader, supporting the U.S. economy with our large capital investment,” Jay Loy, general manager, U.S. operations, said in the release. “We are building up our U.S. team to help manage our expanding manufacturing capabilities, to provide vertical integration for our supply chain. We will optimize our position according to market dynamics.”
The company also established a U.S.-based service center in Idaho to help handle local technical support, equipment inspections, servicing and retrofits and spare parts inventory.
“Since 2010, FPS has proven its commitment and loyalty to end users and will continue to provide the highest level of service and support to all customers,” said Jeffrey Chang, president, FPS Food Process Solutions Corp. “From our Canadian headquarters, we remain steadfast in continuing our support for all of our global operations including the U.S.”
Established in 2010, FPS has a combined 800,000 square feet of space in 20 locations, which include manufacturing and warehouse facilities as well as international sales offices across six continents, according to the company’s website.
