FDA announces Alfa Sprouts recall
Alfa Sprouts, Inc. of Honeoye Falls, N.Y., is recalling approximately 100 pounds of Springwater Sprouts brand organic alfalfa sprouts and bulk three-pound clover sprouts because they may be contaminated with listeria, the FDA has announced. The contamination was discovered after sampling under the USDA Microbiological Data Program by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets inspectors. Subsequent analysis by New York State Food Laboratory personnel revealed the presence of listeria in the product. No illnesses have been reported to date.
