Edwards Vacuum adds new models of dry claw pumps
Edwards Vacuum has added new models to its line of dry claw vacuum pumps. The lower-speed, smaller pumps are suited for use in industries including food processing, thermoforming, wastewaster and medical technology, according to a news release.
The nEDC 65-150 models offer easy contaminant handling and are as robust and cost-effective as the company’s nEDC 300 pumps, according to the release. The machines feature an oil-free pump chamber, low-wear internal components and stainless steel claws.
“The bottom line is that this latest generation of claw pumps is designed for reliable and efficient operation,” Megha Ajmal, Edwards Vacuum product manager, said in the release. “The vacuum pump also impresses with its effective air cooling and its compact housing, which enables installation even in tight spaces.”
The machine’s modular design, with separate gear and pump chambers, allows for simple maintenance and repairs with no special tool requirements, according to the company. Variable speed drive-compatible motors allow users to achieve higher process outputs, while comparatively low temperatures inside the nEDC models help extend the service life of the seals and prevent oil leaks.
An integrated base silencer allows the machines to operate quietly while taking up less space.
