Dole Nordic acquiring European company’s fresh produce division

Dole Nordic AB is acquiring Greenfood AB’s fresh produce division, which includes the group’s fruit and vegetable wholesale activities.

Those operations will be divested after the transaction closes, while the rest of Greenfood’s business will remain unchanged, according to a news release.

Greenfood currently operates in 11 European countries across as well as in the U.S. across three business areas: Picadeli, Food Solutions and Fresh Produce.

Greenfood Group CEO David von Laskowski said the agreement will allow the company to focus on Picadeli and Food Solutions.

“This agreement represents an important strategic step for Greenfood,” von Laskowski said. “It enables us to focus even more on our rapidly growing business areas, Picadeli and Food Solutions, where we see significant long-term potential across Europe and the U.S.”

Completion of the transaction, expected in 2026, is subject to customary regulatory approvals, including clearance from relevant competition authorities.

Dole Nordic, the Nordic arm of Dole plc, includes companies operating from Sweden and Denmark.
