Dewulf building new logistics center

Dewulf, developer of harvesting technology for potatoes and carrots, is expanding its Roeselare, Belgium site with a new Smart Logistics Center. The new facility is being built across from the existing buildings on Moorseelsesteenweg. The center will be operational by the end of 2017 and will employ at least eight logistics workers.

Demolition of the buildings that once served as flax sheds will begin on Sept. 1. A Smart Logistics Center of over 7800 m2 will be built on a total area of 12,000 m2.  A bridge over the road will connec the current production site and the new building. The logistics center has a  modular construction that allows for an additional floor to be added above the existing infrastructure in the future.

Integrated LightCatchers, compact, intelligent light domes with daylight technology, enhance the incoming daylight, allowing the use of artificial light to be kept to a minimum, according to the company. A private heat network will allow heat to be available during winter months without the need for any extra energy, Dewulf said.
