Canadian food safety company acquires metal detector manufacturer
Global food safety company Fortress Technology has acquired New Zealand-based in-line, food-grade metal detector manufacturer Dynamic Inspection.
The acquisition gives Toronto, Ontario-based Fortress, which offers a full line of metal detectors, checkweighing systems and combination systems, its fourth manufacturing site worldwide, according to a news release.
Founded in 1998, Dynamic has been affiliated with Fortress since the Canadian company’s founding 27 years ago, according to the release.
Dynamic founders Bob Philpott and Steve Atkins are retiring, according to the release.
“Seeing our relationship move to this next level and cementing our global reputation in this specialized sphere of expertise is really satisfying,” Atkins said.
The acquisition was ratified Oct. 6.
