California company adds new flavors to plant-based product line

Beyond Meat, a California-based plant-based meat company, has rolled out an expanded line of Beyond Crumbles with three additional flavors.

The frozen crumbles have 12 grams of protein per serving, less than one gram of saturated fat and no cholesterol, according to a news release. The product also meets nutrition criteria of the American Heart Association’s Heart-Check Food Certification program and the American Diabetes Association’s Better Choices for Life program, according to the release.

The crumbles will be available in Beyond Beef Crumbles Original, Beyond Beef Crumbles Feisty, and the newest flavor, Beyond Beef Sausage Crumbles Italian-Style. Image courtesy of Beyond Beef.

The crumbles will be available in Beyond Beef Crumbles Original, Beyond Beef Crumbles Feisty, and the newest flavor, Beyond Beef Sausage Crumbles Italian-Style, which will be available this summer, according to the release. The crumbles can be sauteed for four minutes before being added to dishes or sauces.

“We continue to innovate across our product lines to deliver delicious taste and health benefits alike,” Ethan Brown, Beyond Meat founder and CEO, said in the release. “For consumers who love the taste and versatility of beef but want to reduce saturated fat and cholesterol in their diet, Beyond Crumbles offer a convenient, healthy protein for the center of the plate.”

The expanded crumbles line announcement follows earlier certifications of Beyond Steak by the national heart and diabetes associations. Beyond Meat also recently launched its Beyond IV platform, the fourth generation of its Beyond Burger and Beyond Beef products.
