BW Packaging creates new division by merging filling and closing businesses
A new division of packaging machinery company BW Packaging will offer increased potential for innovation, according to the company.
BW Filling & Closing has been created by merging Barry Wehmiller filling and closing businesses Pneumatic Scale Angelus and Synerlink. The new division’s combined product portfolio will include Pneumatic Scale, Mateer and Hema fillers; Angelus, Continental/Closetech and Hema seamers; Arcil form-fill-seal (FFS) lines; Dairy Pack fill-seal (FS) lines; and Burt labelers and Zepf Solutions change parts, container handling and storage solutions.
BW Packaging’s food and beverage equipment offerings include bag filling, sealing and palletizing, labeling services and end-of-line solutions such as cartoning, case and tray packing and robotic palletizing.
“The creation of BW Filling & Closing allows us to purposefully align our teams to better meet the needs of our global customers with focused product value streams set up to enable food and beverage manufacturers to win,” Rachana Creeth, BW Packaging group president, said in the release.
Greg Wolf will serve as president of BW Filling & Closing. Wolf brings more than 30 years of global capital equipment and leadership experience, including roles at John Bean Technologies (formerly FMC Technologies), Gerber Scientific, BHS Corrugated and Brown Machine Group, where he served as president and CEO.
“I am honored to lead this new organization, which has been created through the combination of two organizations with strong brands and legacies of success,” Wolf said. “BW Filling & Closing is fortunate to have capable leaders and a talented team driving us towards even greater achievements in service of our customers and stakeholders.”
BW Filling & Closing is one of three divisions, along with BW Flexible Systems and BW Integrated Systems, which make up BW Packaging, Barry Wehmiller’s global packaging machinery group.
