Bonduelle expands single-serve salad stake with Canadian line

Bonduelle, formerly Ready Pac Foods, is expanding its presence in the Canadian market with a line of ready-to-eat single-serve salads.

Bonduelle (BON.PA), which owns Bonduelle Fresh Americas, announced Dec. 13 it is launching Bonduelle Fresh Picked to focus on the $24 million single-serve salad market in Canada.

The ready-to-eat bowls, including fork, come with the ingredients separated to preserve freshness. Bonduelle Fresh Picked includes five varieties:

  • Caesar Salad with Chicken and Bacon
  • Cobb Salad with Turkey and Bacon
  • Greek Inspired with Chicken
  • Chef Inspired with Turkey and Ham
  • Santa Fe Style

They are available through Loblaw stores — Loblaws, Zehrs, Provigo, Maxi & Cie and others — in Quebec and Ontario provinces, as well as in the Maritimes.

“Canadian consumers want more high-protein food options and Bonduelle Fresh Picked salads will make healthier meal solutions with complete proteins attainable for all,” said Mary Thompson, Bonduelle Fresh Americas CEO.

Bonduelle acquired Ready Pac Foods in 2017.
